Mission of Canada to ASEAN

In Southeast Asia, women are experiencing digital attacks that challenge their freedom of expression, freedom of the press, and freedom of assembly. Meanwhile, Canada has been active in campaigning for more women's inclusion in cyberspace with the increase of digital literacy programmes. Canadian women are more confident using the internet as a tool to share their stories and further their narratives.

With International Women’s Day coming up, CSIS Indonesia - Centre for Strategic and International Studies and Mission of Canada to ASEAN invite you to ‘Women in Digital Southeast Asia: Challenges and Opportunities’. We will address gender-based violence in cyberspace and exchange lessons learned between Canada and Southeast Asia, while also questioning whether ASEAN has done much to address cybersecurity.
