Democracy, political parties, and local politics

Sunny Tanuwidjaja is a researcher in the Department of Politics and Social Change at the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), Jakarta, Indonesia. He received his Bachelor in Chemical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 2002, and his Master in Political Science at Northern Illinois University. His Master paper was titled ?omparative Study of Fiscal Decentralization: The Cases of Indonesia and India? He is currently working on his doctoral dissertation on voting behavior and party system in Indonesia.

In addition, he is a lecturer in Pelita Harapan University and has provided consultancy services to UNDP and Indonesia's Home Ministry . He is also active in writing articles in newspapers and has published in international refereed journals.

Prior to joining CSIS he works in Sociology and Political Science Quantitative Research lab in Northern Illinois University.
